Hi, my name is Samantha Santos and I am going to be a Senior this upcoming fall. I was raised in Aguascalientes, Mexico for two years and for the rest of my childhood I was raised in Chicago, Illinois (which is where I currently live in). I live in the south side of Chicago (Mckinley Park) and I attend Back of the Yards College Preparatory High School.
When I was in middle school my passion towards music and dancing appeared and began to grow tremendously. During school I was able to play music in my music class, and afterschool I was able to dance fokloric for my 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Once I entered high school I tried to continue on doing the same things. I had bumps through the road trying to find programs or activities that I enjoyed, some of them were a great and some of them were not. My sophmore year I became part of the marching band/concer band at my school and until now it has been an amazing experience. Through band I was able to create more friendships than I would have thought of.
As time progressed, marching band and concert band started consuming most of my free time and became a huge commitment. It was not only a class but also a afterschool program, (especially after I decided to join the Jazz Ensemble). Due to the mayority of time, and the overlaping after school programs of "Folkloric" and "Band", I stopped doing fokloric. I am still greatful that I did it because it is where I found my group of friends.
Another thing that you should know about me is that I am a huge dog lover. I currently own one and her name is Bella. Bella is One year old and she is a Chihuahua. I still remeber the day I got her like it was yesterday, the story is that we were supposed to pick her up from where she was, but luckly she was already home when I got from school and it took me by surprise. She is the baby of the house and she is very spoiled.
